Marchers gathered at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa on Saturday as part of the third annual commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace.

Volunteers at the peace walk collected petition signatures supporting a Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War, which proposes an international initiative to draft a legally binding document for all nations to adopt promoting a culture of peace with the goal to end all wars.

It includes provisions aimed at "resolving conflicts, reducing war potential and repurposing weapons to benefit humanity," according to proponent Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, or HWPL, an organization based in Seoul, South Korea.

Similar peace walks occurred in 52 countries, organizers said.

According to HWPL, the petition had more than 500,000 signatures from 154 countries as of May 25. The number is expected to reach 2 million by the end of the year, the group said.

Zimbabwe's need for peace : HWPL is trying!

I heard bad news about
terror attack in London.
I am sorry to hear that...
pray for london

All wants peace
not terrors, not conflicts
Peace not war...!

This is about
an up-to-the-minute account
of the riots in Zimbabwe
I hope peace and reconciliation
in Zimbabwe soon!

Zimbabweans fail to forgive each other   by zimnews.net

Also, I heard good news about
HWPL's trying for peace
in Zimbabwe.

They says
'Peace and reconciliation
is the way to go
if a heritage for future generations
is to be passed on.'

I totally agree with that!
I think
we shoud fight for peace and
make the world brighter
for our generations.

I respect HWPL's thoughts :
Calls for world peace is gaining momentum as...

I think their ideas is the key
to solve past conflicts.

 HWPL says
People world over should take a leaf
from Nelson Mandela's Truth and reconciliation Commission which is similar to what Zimbabwe seeks to do with the National Reconciliation Bill
to deal with past confilicts,
instead of seeking revenge.

Hope for Love and Peace

Omani filmmakers parade for peace at Korean event

Muscat -
Two Omani youths attended the prestigious Arirang Performance World Peace Parade which was held recently in Korea.

Organised by the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), the event was a meeting point of artists, musicians, social workers, writers and entrepreneurs from around the world.

Sultan Khalfan and Haitham Salim al Maskari were invited to the festival and it was the first time that Oman was represented at the event. The filmmaker duo working with the SME serve-n-knock Productions (snk) brought back with them experiences that will push them both professionally and personally.

Khalfan, CEO of snk said,

“To be in a crowd of 200,000 people from around the world and to interact with people from various nationalities, communities, faiths was something special.

“There were representatives from Syria and Iraq who spoke of atrocities of war. As people who hail from a peaceful country, it was shocking for us to learn about their plight.”

He added that the event would give him a chance to shoot videos which can be used for promotional purposes of world peace.

“It was also a great chance to shoot some good cultural videos and network with like-minded people,”

Khalfan said.

Maskari, a senior coordinator of snk said,

“The main idea of the event was to create awareness on peace and to stop war irrespective of country and community. Everyone was united under one banner to stop war and wanted to send a clear message to the UN.

“It is youth who are suffering in many parts of the world and as youth we must do everything to stop this menace. This was the lesson that we had from the event. More than 50 countries took part.”

IPYG started out as a group of young people in Korea in May 2013 and the main interest was to spread the message of peace around the world.

The purpose of IPYG meeting is to create positive and lasting change internationally through uniting major youth associations around the world.

The organisation invites young people owning SMEs to be part of the event and align with them for future endeavours. Khalfan and Maskari are planning to make short videos on Oman to promote peace.

Legislate Peace Campaign,

Longing for peace in Yemen with HWPL,IPYG,and IWPG

There was ‘Legislate Peace Campaign’ to support the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW) proclaimed by Heavenly Culture World Peace restoration of Light(HWPL) in 2 major cities in Yemen in the first half of 2016.

International Peace Youth Group(IPYG) and International Women’s Peace Group(IWPG) took charge of International Law Peace Committee. The youth and women got 3908 signatures only in Yemen.

57 youth voluntarily went out and had Legislate Peace Campaign to make the DPCW a legally binding instrument last May in Taiz, the second biggest city in Yemen. They got 1608 signatures.

After this event Ghazwa Saeed Al-Absi, the founder of Yemeni youth organization named Engaging Youth for Peace(EYP) and International Law Peace Committee member, said,

“we will fight for peace with our last breath.”

32 women, including Arfat shraf, the head of human rights and relief team of Al Agatha put their signatures in HWPL international law workshop held in Ibb, the city famous for its beautiful landscape.

 They said,

“Legislate Peace Campaign will be actively run to protect Yemeni youth as mothers who protect their children from wars and create peace.”

‘Legislate Peace Campaign’ which HWPL is focusing on is the international peace signature campaign for the cessation of war. After proclaiming the DPCW the youth and women from all over the world initiated International Law Peace Committee and brought participation from various sectors for a short time. There is much attention to peace achievements made by Yemeni women and youth who proclaim peace in spite of a difficult situation.
